2015 was anything but a dull year for sports having witnessed World Cups and Annual sporting events like the ICC Cricket World Cup, The UEFA Champions League, The Davis Cup and The IAAF World Championships and The eye catching Rugby World Cup.
Here is our take on the top 5 of the best sporting events that took place this year, in no particular order.
1) Barcelona won the treble for the Second time in their history.
The Catalyunan side dominated Europe as they won the La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the all important UEFA Champions league largely thanks to the front three, South American trio, Luis Suarez, Junior Neymar and the golden boy from Argentina, Lionel Messi.
Luis Enrique’s side defeated Italian Giants Juventus to secure their 5th UEFA Champions League and their second treble winning season, the first one being in 2008-09.
Barcelona are arguably the best side in the world currently and are on full throttle to dominate Europe in the upcoming years.
2) Australia cemented their name on the Cricket World Cup trophy for the 5th time.
The 2015 Cricket World Cup was hosted in Australia and New Zealand and the two co hosting countries met each other in the final only for the Aussies to thrash their neighbours by 7 wickets with just under 12 overs to spare bidding their wicket keeper,Brad Haddin a fine farewell.

3) Bolt kissed 3 Gold Medals at this year’s IAAF World Championships held in Beijing, China.

The heroics of Dan Carter proved to be vital throughout the tournament particularly in the finals as the flyhalf converted four penalty kicks and kicked a drop goal that ensured the Kiwi’s victory.
He was named man of the match and was crowned with the honour of World Rugby player of the year for the third time.

Football fans, something for you to cherish this June-July apart from all the transfer news, The UEFA Euro takes place in 2016 with France being the host nation and will see many of Europe’s giant Countries and individual stars.
One notable absentee is the Dutch National side having failed to qualify from their group. It will be nice to see the footballers don the pitch with their national team jerseys put on in a major tournament after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
