The Apex Court has rejected Talwar couple’s plea on shifting the murder case to Delhi from Ghaziabad. The accused dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar is fighting case against them for the murder of their only daughter Aarushi.
Talwar couple pleaded to Supreme Court to shift their trial to Delhi, following security threat and inconvenience in journey. But the bench of justices B S Chauhan and J S Khehar today rejected their plea by saying the request is not valid and it would only result in delayed criminal prosecution.
CBI also told the Court that the plea by Talwars is attempt to delay the trial and has assured the court that proper security arrangement would be there in Ghaziabad.
In 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar was brutally murdered at the Talwar family’s Noida residence. Talwars’ servant, Hemraj’s body was also found next day on the terrace. The prime accused of the murders is Rajesh Talwar, the father of Aarushi.
