PM Stands By Mr.Chidambaram?

The Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh seems to have given a clean chit to the Home Minister P.C.Chidambaram about the allegations that Mr.Chidambaram has helped one S.P.Gupta, a hotelier and a former client of Mr.Chidambaram when he was a practising lawyer, by asking his ministry to quash three criminal proceedings against him.

During his interaction with the media while returning from Moscow, Dr.Singh said: “His statement is there for anybody to see, and he said that he is not guilty for the type of blame that is being sought to be placed on his shoulders.”

However, Dr.Singh has said that he has not spoken to Mr.Chidambaram about the issue yet.
