At last the nightmare is over and hope blooms! In the last stage of negotiation between the couple, Norway administration and India govt, the NRI couple, Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya will get their children back very soon after long battle.
Norway will handed over the kids to to their uncle – Anurup’s brother, Anurab Bhattacharya. Anurab will travel to Norway to get the children.
Abhigyan (3) and Aishwarya (1) were taken under protective care by Norwegian Child Welfare Service in May on grounds that they were taken care of properly by their parents Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya.
The Bhattacharya couple is fighting with the Norwegian government for the last 8 months. They have been appealing to Indian government for help. At last Indian government woke up and on Monday External affairs minister S M Krishna clearly told Norway that it should work out a settlement with the the victim family and released the children at the earliest.
“…after my talks with the local embassy and with the Norwegian foreign minister, I have come to this conclusion that a reasonable settlement of this issue can be worked out. Our anxiety is it should be worked out at the earliest so that the children are brought back to the protective umbrella of their biological parents and grandparents,” Krishna told reporters.
Wishing Bhattacharya family all the best and may god bless you!
