To curb the ongoing Tatkal ticket misuse by the agents, the Indian Railways have started a new Tatkal Booking system from today. Under this new Tatkal scheme, passengers can book Tatkal tickets from 10 am instead of 8 am.
No authorized agents can book Tatkal tickets from 10am to 12pm over the counter as well as on the internet. While Online agents can only book one Tatkal ticket per train per day after 12 O’clock, the individual passengers can now book only two tickets between 10 am and 12 noon.
There will be separate lines and counters for Tatkal ticket buyers. However some zones which have a provision of separate counters may issue normal tickets from 10:30.
Through this measure IRCTC hopes to give better service to the passengers who are facing difficulties to get Tatkal tickets.
