Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Vasundhra Raje has been emerging strong to beat Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan. According to the various surveys and opinion polls Vasundhra Raje is set to come back to power in Rajasthan.
The opinion polls suggest that ruling Congress is losing ground drastically in Rajasthan and set to face huge defeat. While BJP has been projected to win around 110 seats in 200-seat assembly, Congress is projected to reduce to 79. In 2008 Congress won 96 seats.
The opinion polls also claim that Vasundhra Raje is topping the chart as favourite Chief Minister in-waiting with over 40% votes. Incumbent Chief Minister Gehlot whose government is facing serious corruption charges, could only managed 25% votes.
Rajasthan win is very crucial for both BJP and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
