Some media reports have been suggesting that the UPA government is considering bringing ordinance to pass six anti-corruption Bills to fulfill Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s wish ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha Polls.
Congress wanted to pass at least four anti-corruption Bills in the Parliament before it adjourned sine die. Blaming the BJP, Rahul had said, “I have always said that action speaks louder than words but the Opposition does not want to support us in passing the anti-corruption Bills. They have betrayed the people of India. We are considering the ordinance route.”
Rahul Gandhi who has been trying hard to project himself as the anti-corruption crusader, is pushing for the remaining anti-corruption Bills including the Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, the Whistle Blowers Protection Bill, and the Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Grievance Redressal Bill.
