Comming out in defense, Union Minister Mr Prakash Javadekar turned down demands of resignation of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Mr Javadekar, who was in Indore said on Tuesday that there was no need for Chouhan to resign now that the CBI has commenced its inquiry and probe into the mysterious deaths related to the Vyapam Scam.
The pressure on the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister had only mounted in the last couple of weeks as people related to the scandal died in succession and many refused to believe it as a mere coincidence. The opposition, taking a firm stand on the matter, began demanding resignation of the Chief Minister as the matter was only getting murkier.
However, the Union Minister said, “Inquiry by STF under supervision of High Court was also going in right direction but considering the sensibility of the people government requested for CBI inquiry.” “CM had started the inquiry by STF in this matter and now he himself urges court for CBI inquiry,” he added.
Mr Javadekar made it explicit that the government did not fear about anything, as he said his government had done nothing wrong. He, instead, blamed the former Congress government for the scam.
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government is under tremendous weight ever since the Vyapam Scam has been bought out into limelight.
