Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray made an emotional pitch on Sunday’s Dussehra rally and told party cadres that he would resign if they feel he is not doing good job.
“If you feel that I have lost your confidence, then I will step down. I am ready to leave this stage,” Uddhav said.
The statement came in wake of indirect criticism of Sena leader Manohar Joshi last week who was also present on Sunday’s rally. Joshi had to leave the rally after party workers protested against him.
Uddhav also hit out at NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
“Pawar criticised (Narendra) Modi after he was named BJP’s prime ministerial nominee. But what about Pawar who himself has not shed the aspiration of becoming the Prime Minister?” Uddhav said.
