The Narendra Modi wave has swept Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s dream and left him with series of nightmares!
A day after the disastrous poll results declared for JD (U) in the state of Bihar, the reports are coming that many MLAs and leaders within the party have openly revolted against Nitish Kumar and blamed his decision to parting ways with BJP behind the pathetic performance of the party in the Lok Sabha polls. Two MLAs have even threat to leave the party.
Nitish Kumar skipped the press after the result and his office has issued a statement in which the chief minister said, “I respect the mandate of the people.”
JD(U) has won only two seats in Bihar which has pained in saffron colour with BJP and his alliance 31 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
Former deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi has demanded Nitish Kumar’s resignation following the mandate.
JD(U) has also lost Assembly by-polls big time as it only managed to win one seat out of five. While RJD wins three seats and BJP retain one.
JD (U) leader Sanjay Singh denied any internal conflict in the party and said it is not a mandate against Bihar government.
“The poll result does not necessarily mean that people rejected the JD (U)…,” he said
Nitish’s recent critic and former JD(U) leader Shivanand Tiwari demanded CM’s resignation.
“If he continues to stick to power, he would not only face attacks by the rivals but also have to deal with blackmailers in his own party. With resignation, he would be able to save his dignity,” he said.
