More trouble for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. After controversial ending of ‘Janata Darbar’ and two back to back rape incidents in Delhi, now the AAP chief is facing the tune from his own party colleagues.
AAP MLA from Laxmi Nagar, Vinod Kumar Binny lashed out at Arvind Kejriwwal by calling him ‘liar’ and ‘dictator’. Binny said the AAP government in Delhi has failed to deliver its promises.
“He who has lied should resign from his position, be it Arvind Kejriwal or I,” Binny said on Thursday.
“There is a difference between what AAP says and does,” he said.
Alleging the party now ‘enjoying the perks of power’, Binny said, “AAP was born not to make someone CM or MLA. It was launched to serve the people.”
Earlier Delhi CM Kejriwal denied Binny’s allegations.
“Binny first asked us for a Cabinet post. Then he wanted a ticket for LS polls, which we denied. The party has now decided not to give any ticket to sitting MLAs,” Kejriwal said.
Reacting to Kejriwal’s comments Binny on Wednesday called Kejriwal a ‘liar’.
“There was no talk about the Lok Sabha elections. Everyone present in the meeting will attest to that. It is unfortunate that Kejriwal said anything to that effect. He is lying,” Binny said.
“This party works on the principle that Arvind Kejriwal’s word must prevail,” he added.
Meanwhile, more rebellious sounds are emerging within the AAP. Captain Gopinath who joined the party recently calls for democracy in the party.
In an interview with CNN-IBN Captain Gopinath said, “Some of these things are coming out now. I will be doing disservice to the country and the party if I do not put out my views. I am not going to lick anybody’s boots. May be I will reconsider if there is no internal democracy. The AAP must step back, focus on Delhi before going for its national ambition.”
Earlier he has criticised AAP’s decision on banning FDI in retail in Delhi.
Another AAP member Tina Sharma also said that the party is not fulfilling its commitment.
“The 2013 manifesto said so many things. Now I cannot defend my party. So that’s the issue. Why are we directing only to the 2014 elections,” she said.
