Leaders of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday slammed Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and UPA Chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for instigating chaos in the Parliament.
In a sharp attack Ms Swaraj accused Meira Kumar and Sonia Gandhi for disrupting her speech in the Lok Sabha and said Sonia Gandhi does not honour democratic institutions in India.
She said her party BJP will boycott all meetings called by the Speaker and the Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
“Sonia Gandhi does not believe in democratic institutions of the country. Sonia Gandhi herself created a situation in Lok Sabha and I was not allowed to speak. She instigated her Congress MPs and ministers against me. The Speaker too did nothing to stop it and acted like Congress’s hand,” said Sushma Swaraj.
“The BJP has decided to boycott any meetings called by the Speaker. We will also not participate in any meeting called by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister,” she added.
Sushma Swaraj targeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for defending massive corruption in the country, “It is unfortunate that the highest court of law says there is a massive breach of trust. The conduct of the Prime Minister and the government are responsible for the falling image of the country in the world.”
Sushma Swaraj ruled out bringing a no-confidence motion against the UPA government.
