Supreme Court Orders Continuation of Probe Against Mulayam and Sons

The Supreme Court of India has asked the CBI to proceed with the probe against Mulayam Singh Yadav (President of Samajwadi party), Akhilesh Yadav (Mulayam’s son and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh) and Prateek Yadav (another son of Mulayam), into allegations of disproportionate assets held by the duo, while allowing the probe against Dimple Yadav, wife of Akhilesh Yadav, to be dropped.

The Court has also asked the CBI to file a status report before the Court rather than Central Government as ordered earlier in 2007.
