Reacting to Congress’s advertisement against his family, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhna Singh sent a defamation notice to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday.
The alleged advertisement in newspapers accused Shivraj Singh Chouhan misusing government money and keeping a currency counting machine at home.
The content of the advertisement reads: “Mukhiya ke munh par tala, lalchhi parivar ne Madhya Pradesh ko loot dala”, “Kyon zaroorat padi note ginne wali machine ki?”
The legal notice demanded the Congress party to publish apology and retreating ads with similar size in the newspapers within fortnight and if not then they can expect Rs 10 crore defamation suit.
Same notice also sent to Madhya Pradesh state president Kantilal Bhuria.
“The title of the defamatory Publication is absolutely false, frivolous and baseless besides being defamatory. First of its kind in the country, it is under the tenure of Mr Chauhan as the chief minister of the State of Madhya Pradesh that the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Guarantee Act, 2010 has received a special award in the United Nations Public Service Award for the year 2012, for excellence in public service,” the notice said.
