A setback from Lalu Prasad as senior RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav has resigned from the party posts after he was denied a ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“I am still a member of the party but have resigned from all party posts,” Ram Kripal Yadav said.
The fallout took place after RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav announced that his daughter Misa Bharti will contest the polls from Patliputra constituency instead of Ram Kripal Yadav. Former Chief Minister and Lalu’s wife Rabri Devi is also contesting this time from Saran constituency.
“Party seems to believe in family politics. Without taking me into confiodence, the party chief announced his candidature from my constituency and I supported him,” he accused.
The speculations are on high that Ram Kripal Yadav may contest the election from Patliputra constituency with BJP’s ticket.
“I did want that I fight Lok Sabha elections. The people in the area wanted it. I had expressed this to the party leadership. All options open before me. I have not taken any decision yet,” he said.
Earlier Lalu’s daughter Misa has said she will sacrifice her ticket to Yadav so that he remained in the party.
“I am ready to give up my seat for Ram Kirpal, he has encouraged me to enter politics. I won’t leave his home, till I have persuaded him not to quit. It is wrong to say that my father is encouraging dynastic politics. I was active behind the curtains and now contesting. My father contested from Patliputra, so people wanted him to give ticket to his family,” Misa told a news channel.
Ram Kripal Yadav called Misa’s appeal to him ‘a political stunt’.
“The way daughter Misa came to me was a political stunt or emotional attack on a party worker. Misa is my daughter,” he said.
