Samajwadi Party politician Raja Bhaiya who was also Food and Civil Supplies Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government has resigned over his alleged connection to a policeman’s murder.
His resignation has been accepted by the Governor and a case against him has been registered for criminal conspiracy.
“It’s a conspiracy against me. There should be a CBI inquiry in the matter. I am not afraid of going to the jail,” Raja Bhaiya said.
Raghuraj Pratap Singh aka Raja Bhaiya was allegedly involved in land dispute clash in Pratapgarh where a villager and a senior policeman were brutally killed.
Out of four accused who had shot at the Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia ul Haq on Saturday night have been arrested. Haq’s wife also demanded CBI investigation into the case.
The incident deeply embarrassed Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his government as the opposition parties targeting his government, terming it as gundaraj.
