Rahul Gandhi praises Sachin Tendulkar at a rally in Jammu and Kashmir

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday praised Sachin Tendulkar in Jammu and Kashmir. Gandhi said Tandulkar is a good person and a friend of him.
Speaking at a rally at Lassipora in Pulwama Rahul advocates empowerment of the panchayat leaders and said the local people should come forward and participate in running the government.

He also praised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and hinted a continuation of National Conference -Congress alliance.  

“I am a supporter of Omar. I am a friend of Omar. Absolutely, we have a government here together,” Rahul told reporters.

“We are committed partners of UPA and we have had a very good relationship with UPA. We see no reason why that should change. It is as simple as that,” Omar said.

On Wednesday Rahul Gandhi faced interruption by sarpanches at a panchayat meeting in Srinagar. His two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir ends today. Tomorrow he will address a rally in Chhattisgarh.
