Its official. Rahul Gandhi is Congress’s no. 2 now!
The Congress on Saturday crowned Rahul Gandhi the Vice President of the party at Congress Working Committee meeting in Jaipur.
It was Defence Minister AK Antony who proposed Rahul Gandhi’s name for the post of vice president at the meet and the CWC unanimously agreed on Antony’s offer.
Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi confirmed the news to media, “AK Antony has proposed the name of Rahul Gandhi as Vice President of Congress and the CWC welcomed this proposal and Sonia Gandhi gave her yes and Rahul Gandhi accepted the proposal.”
It was a long demand from the party workers to make Rahul Gandhi Congress’s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 general election.
All congress general secretaries will now report to Rahul. It’s clear that Rahul Gandhi would lead the party in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
So, are we going to see Narendra Modi versus Rahul Gandhi in 2014?
