Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi visited the Nepal embassy and met ambassador Deep Kumar Upadhyay in Delhi on Friday to pay his tributes to the victims of the earthquake that hit Nepal last Saturday. Rather than writing words of his own, he chose to ‘copy’ the text from his cellphone.
TV cameras spotted the cellphone in front of him as he sat and started writing the message on the visitors’ book. The cams caught him while looking down at his phone and copying the text that he already had stored in it.
As soon as the news broke, the same Twitterati who supported him in critisizing Modi for the Net Neutrality issue, began critisizing him. The hashtag #PappuCantWriteS**la was used by the Twitteratis to make fun of him.
“Over the last week, the world has watched in horror as the tragedy in Nepal unfolded. Some wounds will never heal, but as Nepal begins the hard task of rebuilding, the people of India stand with you in strength and soliditary,” Rahul wrote in the condolence book.
