President Pranab Mukherjee has sent the controversial Telangana bill to Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday for discussion and gave six weeks time to finalise the decision on creating separate state of Telangana.
Sources said that before sending the bill to AP assembly, Pranab Mukherjee had consulted the legalities related to Andhra Pradesh bifurcation with legal experts.
The proposed bill offers 10 districts of Andhra Pradesh to be included in the new state of Telengana and Hyderabad will be the common capital for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next 10 years. The two districts of Rayalaseema – Ananthapur and Kurnool will remain with Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile on Thursady Andhra Assembly session was adjourned following ruckus at the House over Telangana issue. The Parliament also adjourned for successive five days due to the same issue.
