Telengana issue continues to rock the parliament in its second week of the last session of the 15th Lok Sabha.
The ugly ruckus was seen in both the houses on Monday as the angry Seemandhra MPs were shouting slogans and disrupts the house proceedings against government’s decision to table the Telengana bill. AIADMK and DMK were shouting and protesting for Tamil fishermen and stalled the parliament.
In Rajya Sabha while Seemandhra MPs were shouting on the well, an AIADMK MP were seen throwing papers at the Deputy Chairperson PJ Kurien. Kurien later adjourned the house soon after Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.
Earlier on Monday President Pranab Mukherjee advised Parliamentarians to obey the constitution and check their responsibilities. He asked the parliamentarians to participate in debate and co-operating Parliament’s smooth functioning.
“Parliament is the Gangotri of democracy and if Gangotri is polluted, Ganga cannot be clean. All stakeholders must introspect and follow convention and rules,” Pranab Mukherjee said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has reached out to BJP for supporting the Telengana Bill and to break the deadlock. Governemnt is planning to table the bill tomorrow.
According to media news BJP will take a final call on Telengana on Tuesday.
