The both houses of the Parliament were adjourned on Thursday following uproar over Telangana issue and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde’s alleged “insulting” letter to the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
This is the five successive days in the winter session of Parliament with no work. Although the government is failing to continue the parliament smoothly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath claimed that government has no plans to curtail the winter session as they will push for Lokpal Bill on Friday.
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that Lokpal Bill is a top priority of the government and will be tabled before the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
“The select committee has given 13 amendments and all of them have been approved. V Narayanasamy (MoS in the PMO) has requested the Chairman to take up the Bill on priority,” Shinde told reporters.
The principal opposition party BJP has said they will cooperate with the government to pass the finance bills if government ensures debates on Lokpal Bill, Telangana and the Agusta Westland deal investigations at the parliament.
