The five-member NIA team on Monday arrested one person in connection with the nine serial blasts at the Mahabodhi temple in bodh Gaya on Sunday. Two monks who were injured during the blast are reportedly stable.
The holy Buddhist shrine Mahabodhi temple is the World Heritage site where lakhs of devotees around the world visit every year. The famous Bodhi Tree under which Lord Buddha had achieved enlightenment, located here.
DIG, Magadh range, Nayyer Hasnain Khan informed media that on basis of one identity card which was found at the temple premises on Sunday, NIA arrested a person from Barachatti block in Gaya and interrogation has been started.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told reporters that he has asked for CISF security for Bodh Gaya. The Chief Minister also said that Bihar will soon form its own anti-terror squad.
Meanwhile the National Security Guard forensic team has submitted their report on the blasts to the Union Home Minister.
