Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar has ruled out the possibility of a alliance with Congress in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
“Its baseless speculation…there is no truth in this,” Kumar told reporters adding, “Sawal paida nahin hota hain (the question does not arise).”
“There has been no such proposal from the beginning…its unnecessary speculation,” he added.
The speculations has been going on that Rahul Gandhi wants to get rid of Lalu Prasad’s RJD and may approach JD(U) for the pre-poll alliance in the state by meeting up Nitish’s long-time demand of granting Bihar a special category status.
Calling Congress and RJD are natural allies, Nitish said, “Whether talks on alliance between them is progressing or not is their concern…we have nothing to do with it.”
JD(U) would have pre-poll alliance with left parties for the upcoming polls.
“While understanding on seats have been reached with CPI the same is in process with CPM,” Nitish said.
