Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that the National Investigation Agency or NIA would assist the probe into Sunday’s Bangalore Bomb Blast in which one woman was killed.
“Intelligence agencies will give us concrete information. We will decide after collecting all information whether to hand over investigations to the NIA,” Rajnath Singh said.
Confirming it a Terror Attack, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said, the blast was “definitely a terror attack”.
The low-intensity bomb blast took place around 8:30 pm outside the popular restaurant on Church Street off MG Road.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah chaired a high-level security meeting earlier this morning and reviewed the situation. Home Minister K J George, DGP L Pachau, city Police Commissioner M N Reddi and other top investigating officers were attended the meeting.
The Home Minister Rajnath Singh asked the state government to install CCTVs in all important places in the city. He had called Siddaramaiah and promised “to provide all help”.
“We have stepped up our vigil and intensified patrolling across the city to prevent further incidents in view of New Year’s Eve festivities,” Bangalore Police Commissioner MN Reddi told reporters.
The chief minister announced a compensation of Rs. five lakh for the kin of the woman killed in explosion.
