According to Times of India report, Shashi Tharoor’s domestic help Narayan has told Delhi police that one ‘Sunil sahab’ visited Sunanda Pushkar at Hotel Leela Palace two days prior to her mysterious death. As per Narayan this unidentified ‘Sunil Sahab’ helped Sunanda tweet and ‘copy’ some messages.
In his statement to the police, Narayan also said that Sunanda phoned Tharoor and informed him that he was “finished” as she had revealed everything to the media. However, it was not clear what secret Sunanda was referring to.
Narrating the events took place on January 15, Narayan told cops in Hindi that there was a big fight between the couple and after that “Madam went to (room no. 307) with Sunil sahab and started tweeting on sahab’s phone and copying stuff from there. (Madam kamra number 307 me sunil sahib ke saath jaakar saahab ke phone par twitter karne lagi aur copy karne lagi.) Raat ko madam ne sahab ko phone pe kaha ‘Tharoor sahab aap khatam ho gaye, maine media ko sab bata diya hai’.”
Narayan Singh, who has been emerged as a key figure in the Sunanda Pushkar murder case, earlier told police how the couple used to fight and gave a detail of events between January 16 and 17, the day Sunanda was found dead in a hotel room in the capital.
TOI also quoted the statement Narayan gave to police during interrogation which confirmed fight between the couple in Dubai.
“I have been working with sahab (Tharoor) since October 22, 2010. My work is to cook meals for madam (Sunanda) and sahab and iron clothes besides doing other things. For the past one year (before Sunanda’s death), there were frequent fights between madam and sahab. Last year in December, I had gone to Dubai and sahab and madam came later. There, I saw the first big fight between the two; I don’t know the reason. Madam hit sahab and he was hurt in the leg. Madam told sahab that ‘you don’t care for me even when I am unwell and have been glued to your phone’,” Narayan was quoted in Times of India.
