The terrorist group threatens to carry out aerial strikes in the Indian capital
Delhi: According to intelligence that the Ministry of Home Affairs has received, the Indian Capital is under ‘serious threat’ from different terror groups, specifically the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Security agencies have ensured complete precautionary measures and are investigating possible attack plans and scenarios; they have listed down around 15 key locations where the attacks could be carried out.
Areas that are posed with immediate security dangers include the Prime Minister’s residence, the residences of the Vice President and the Home Minister, Rajpath, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and the CGO complex, where offices of nationally crucial agencies like the CBI, BSF and CISF are based. Surveillance efforts have been put into action immediately in these areas especially, along with other public locations. Security analysis suggests that air-borne objects like drones, unmanned air systems (UAS) and paramotors may be the instruments of attack.
Agencies have been asked to take down any such unidentified machines, if they are declared as unsafe by the Indian Air Force. This comes a month after a drone that was unaccounted for appeared over the Delhi Airport and the origin of this device is still under clouds. This alert was placed on the capital city only hours after Farooq Abdullah, father of Omar Abdullah who is the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, commented,” All of India’s forces cannot defend against terrorists and militants.”
Said one government official,” Delhi is the most sensitive metro in India. It has been facing threats from various outfits. But aerial attack threats are now the main focus. Security and intelligence agencies have given reports about such attacks in Delhi. The government is coming out with a plan to counter the threat.”
The people in the Delhi metro also remain on end.
