Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif and conveyed India’s concerns on terrorism.
In about 50-minute meeting, both the leaders have exchanged positive vibes and agreed to move forward in the right direction.
In his ‘5-point-agenda’ Narendra Modi said Pakistan must curb terrorism. He also raised issues of Hafiz Saeed, Dawood Ibrahim and “too slow” trail on 26/11 Mumbai attack. Modi also expressed concern over recent attack on the Indian consulate in Herat by Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists.
The Prime Minister have also discussed the need to push business ties between the two countries.
In his first reaction Sharif told media that the talk with Modi was “excellent.”
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was also present during the meeting.
Earlier in the day PM Narendra Modi began his work with “courtesy meetings” with leaders of SAARC countries including Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
