After a Delhi woman lodged complaint of gang rape during horrific Jat quota agitation in Murthal, the Haryana police have lodged a formal FIR against seven men including her family members.
Confirming the report Haryana DIG, Crime, Sonipat, Dr. Rajshree Singh told TV channel CNN-IBN, “This is the first case which has come to our knowledge. It could be a family dispute too. Seven people have been named in the FIR.”
“I cannot clarify whether this was done by the Jat agitators or not. We are investigating the matter and cannot disclose much in to the matter as this could hamper our probe,” she added.
According to the latest reports, the violent and horrific pictures emerging during the weeks-long Jat agitation in demand for reservation under the OBC category. Several women and witnesses claimed the shocking attacks on women by the brutal mob.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today requested people to come forward and share information with police regarding the alleged incident.
“Those people who possess any information (regarding Murthal incident) must come forward and share it with the police. But we do not understand why the information is not being shared with the police by people (if they have),” Khattar said.
