Paper getting leaked prior to exams is nothing new to hear. But Mumbai recently witnessed two shocking paper leak cases and the story behind the leaks has now shocked the whole nation. Spectralhues gets you detailed analysis of both the paper leak cases.
CASE – 1
In the first incident, happened on 8th March this year, amidst the then on-going SSC board examination the Algebra paper leak case ran into utmost limelight in the city. A student was arrested by the Kandivli police when the supervisor of his exam center caught him with the answer solution of the Algebra paper. The most surprising fact was that the answers to the questions were behind the FIR sheets. The student’s father Uday Kadam, being a police inspector was under the scanner.
The Mumbai Crime Branch was then handed over the story. During its interrogation, the student’s father confessed of having led the crime. The student’s father then revealed that he got those papers one hour prior to the exams from the Principal of Priyadarshini Vidya Mandir which is also located in Kandivli.
On the basis of the Kadam’s statements, Mangesh Lad was arrested by the police. Mangesh Lad is the principal of the school who was hand in glove with Kadam in the crime. Spectral Hues has also learned that Lad has been serving the institution for past 23 years. Soon after his arrest, Lad confessed to the police. According the information emerging, Kadam posed as a member of Anti Terrorism Cell in front of Lad. Lad did not supply the paper to Kadam in exchange of money but he did it to receive Kadam’s help when in need.
The accused in the SSC Algebra Paper Leak Case have been booked in the case. Uday Kadam, the student’s father was produced in the court. The 16-year-old student has been booked under sections 6 (possession of question paper before exam) and 7 (copying) of Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractice at University, Board and other Specified Examinations Act, 1982.
CASE – 2
In a separate case, the Marketing and Human Resources Management question paper of TY BCom (Third Year Bachelors in Commerce) paper was leaked through a mobile application. In this particular case, two Information Technology coordinators and two students have been arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch for leaking the paper.
According to an official of Mumbai Crime Branch, the colleges received the question paper via email. Also, the password to the question paper was also sent to the Information Technology department and the college principals.
No sooner had Raj Kumar Mishra and Rajendra Shankar Borade, Information Technology coordinators of K M Agarwal College of Kalyan received the paper that they sent them to Vishal Vinod More, a student of KM Agarwal College and Pratik Mehta student of Birla College of Arts, Science and Commerce. These two students paid the two coordinators Rs. 3000 for leaking the paper and further circulated the photo copies of the paper on mobile application whatsapp.
Kudos indeed to the Mumbai Crime Branch who cracked the cases brilliantly! Examinations are important aspects of human life as after appearing for exams we know where we stand. Failing in examinations never marks the end of the world and one can keep trying to pass with flying colors.
Crime never pays and sometime or the other every crime comes into picture. Leaking paper is a very shameful act which not only spoils the life of the accused but also ruins their further career. Even good students have to suffer as often re-exams are conducted for the paper which is leaked.
Also paper leaks create a lot of confusion among students which may affect their performance in the examination. Hence, leaking of the paper should never be considered as a solution to pass in the examinations but one must work hard to achieve good marks and better percentage. After all, hard work is the key to success!
