The Samajwadi Party leader and Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother Shivpal Yadav slammed Congress leader and Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma on Sunday and said Beni Prasad “smuggles opium” and takes “charas”.
“You all know and you have also read that Beni Prasad smokes a lot. These days he is smoking a lot… he mixes something in the tobacco. He should undergo treatment for this. You have read also that he is into smuggling of opium. He mixes charas in his cigarettes. He is doing both these things. So his mind will be affected,” Shivpal Yadav told reporters.
The Samajwadi Party has also demanded ‘immediate’ removal of Beni Prasad from the cabinet. Samajwadi party spokesperson said Beni Prasad has lost his “mental balance”.
Earlier in the day UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav strongly criticised Beni Prasad Verma’s comments of funeral procession for SP in coming lok sabha poll.
“Parties which struggled to get 5,000-10,000 votes in the Assembly polls in most of the constituencies will be able to win not more than 4-5 seats out of 80 in Lok Sabha elections,” Akhilesh told reporters.
On Saturday Beni Prasad Verma said SP would win only four Lok Sabha seats in 2014, and people would “witness the funeral procession of the SP”. He also hits out at Mulayam Singh and said he has cheated Muslims.
“Mulayam has cheated Muslims… He did not do anything to save Babri Masjid,” he said in Lucknow.
