Maharashtra Navnirman Sena cadres vandalised toll booths across Maharashtra after their Chief Raj Thackeray has ordered on Sunday not to pay tolls fees.
“I am instructing all MNS workers, colleagues and people not to pay toll at any toll booth in Maharashtra from now on. If someone opposes you, fight them,” Raj Thackeray said on Sunday.
“If there is any instance just crush the toll nakas. If there is a traffic jam let it be, let the situation take its own course. Do not bother, just don’t pay toll in any of the toll booths,” he added.
MNS workers have damaged toll booths in Aurangabad, Beed, Pune, Nashik, Thane, Airoli and Nagpur. Police has arrested MNS workers after they clashed at Dahisar. FIRs have also been registered across the state.
The NCP slammed Raj Thackeray for spreading violence.
“Raj Thackeray is always looking out for means to get cheap publicity. He must refrain from such acts,” said NCP leader Tariq Anwar.
“This is some sort of competition between the Shiv Sena and MNS as to who will spread more violence. If they have issues, they should talk to the Chief Minister,” NCP leader Nawab Malik said.
