MDMK to Block Vehicles Going to Kerala on 21st December

In protest against Kerala’s demand for a new dam at Mullaiperiyar, MDMK has announced that, on 21st December, it would stop all vehicles headed to Kerala at Tiruchirappli (Trichy).

Vaiko, the President of MDMK said that Kerala is bent upon demolishing the present Mullaipeiyar dam which provides water to the southern districts of Tamilnadu. He said: “We in Tamil Nadu were excercising extraordinary patience, but it should not construed that we are tolerating every thing. We have to assert our right in the dam.”

Vaiko has announced that he would join the farmers of Cumbam (Theni District) on 8th December in a fast.
