Following the recent humiliating loss at the assembly elections in four major states, Congress leaders are now openly blaming Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA government.
A day after Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh admitted that UPA 2 is a lame duck government, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar directly attacked Manmohan Singh and the decision of making him Prime Minister for the second time in 2009 was wrong.
Aiyar said Congress should sit in opposition and revamp the party structure. He admitted that there is no gap between the party and its government.
“I don’t think there is gap between party and government at all. Mrs Gandhi and Manmohan Singh are in frequent and regular contact. Especially when there are issues to be resolved they are constantly in touch with each other,” Aiyar said.
