After FDI collision, again a cold war is being observed between UPA’s biggest ally Trinamool Congress and the Govt of India.
Recently West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh raising some key objections against the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Bill, 2011. Her objections includes 26% FDI in the pension fund sector.
The bill which was scheduled to be tabled in Parliament on Wednesday is now facing indefinite delay. Government is trying its best to woo TMC chief Mamata Banerjee but its highly unlike that Mamata will give positive nod to Govt.
Seeking oppositions support to pass the bill, Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee met with senior BJP leaders, including LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Yashwant Sinha. However BJP did not promised anything as usual and Left is also fundamentally against the bill.
This was the second time in a row in this winter session that Mamata Banerjee had enforced Manmohan Singh to withdraw his reform plan.
