As Anna Hazare’s indefinite fast turns fourth day, the government has tabled the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. MoS PMO V Narayanasamy introduced the bill in the upper house of the parliament. However, the discussions on the bill could not begin due to the uproar at the House followed by the adjournment.
The Samajwadi Party stalled the house demanding discussions on the price rise while Seemandhra MPs shouted slogans in the well demanding debates over the Telangana issue.
The BJP accused government of trying to pass the Lokpal Bill in the ‘din’ and the Aam Aadmi Party said the current form of Lokpal Bill is a ‘diluted’ one and will opposed it.
Meanwhile Kiran Bedi, said Anna Hazare okay with the Lokpal Bill.
“I asked Anna if he agrees with the suggestions and he said yes. I have read the recommendations very carefully. They have included very correct points. They have improved the law with amendments,” Kiran Bedi said.
The Rajya Sabha Chairperson Hamid Ansari has indicated that there will be a 6-hour debate on the Lokpal Bill before it is passed.
