A special CBI court in Ranchi on Monday convicted all 45 people including two former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra in Rs 37.7 crore fodder scam. The verdict came after 17 years in which all these people have been found guilty of withdrawing of Rs 37.7 crore from Chaibasa treasury in 1996 by committing fraud.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad will be sent to jail shortly after being found guilty on RC 20 A /96. The quantum of punishment will be announced on October 3.
After ruling Bihar for almost 15 years, RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s future political career is in jeopardy as he is now facing immediate disqualification according to recent Supreme Court order which said MPs or MLAs would be disqualified immediately if found guilty for crimes with punishment of two years or more.
