Aam Admi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on the hike in gas prices for the Reliance Industries. Earlier he has sent a similar letter to BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
In the letter, Kejriwal has accused Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries of taking unethical benefit by selling overpriced natural gas in the country. Reliance is already selling natural gas at higher prices of over $4 per unit against the cost of $1 per and an agreed price of $2.3 per unit. And now UPA government’s decision to fulfill Ambani’s demands and hike it to $8 per unit has been instigate an alarm in the country. The cost of cooking gas, transportation and fertilisers will go up from April 1, and it will result in higher food prices and inflation. It is speculated that with the price hike Reliance will get benefit of Rs.54,000 crore.
“Panic will spread within the country from April 1,” Kejriwal said in his letter adding, “Why are you and Modi quite on this issue.”
“People are also wondering as to why gas prices were doubled just a few months before the general elections…Do the two parties have such bonding with Mukesh Ambani?”
Kejriwal also asked Rahul whether his party has been getting favours from Mukesh Ambani.
