Kejriwal government opens CWG probe

A big blow to former Chief Minister Shiela Dixit  as the Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi government has ordered investigation into the Common Wealth Games scam and has handed over the file to the anti corruption bureau. The Aam Aadmi Party government has asked the anti-corruption agency to probe a number of corruption cases related to CWG.

Former chief minister Sheila Dixit had rejected the reports of Shunglu panel appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to probe into CWG scam. The report had blamed Sheila Dixit and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) officials for corruption in CWG.

The first case which the anti corruption bureau will probe Rs 92 crore scam in purchasing street light for the Common Wealth Games in 2010.

The Anti Corruption Branch is likely to file an FIR against Sheila Dixit in this case.
