Kejriwal asked to pay Rs 85k monthly rent for govt flat

In an embarrassment to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government has sent a notice to former chief minister and asking him to pay Rs 85,000 per month as rent for the government flat in which he has been staying since February even after he had resigned from the post of Chief Minister.

The PWD has asked him to pay the rent from March 1and also reply to the notice within one week.

Earlier Kejriwal requested an extension to stay in Tilak Lane residence till his daughter’s examinations are over in May.

The Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson said that Kejriwal would pay the rent and continue to stay in the house till August.
