AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday apologized to people of Delhi for unexpectedly quitting from the government.
Calling it a biggest mistake Kejriwal has also demanded fresh polls in the state as he said there is no option left to form the government.
Earlier Congress has refused to extend support to AAP government.
“If they have run away once, why will people support them?” Congress leader JP Aggarwal said.
Speaking to the reporters, Kejriwal said, “We had reduced electricity bills and the Congress increased the bills again. Police started bullying people. Sales tax officials started raiding. People felt we left them in this situation and that is why they are angry with us,”
“We regret not asking people before resigning,” Kejriwal added. “Our decision to resign has been misinterpreted. People have been misled.”
Arvind led AAP had met Delhi LG Najeeb Jung on Tuesday and asked him to dissolve the Delhi Assembly and ordered fresh polls.
“It is not the right time to form the government in Delhi right now. We had urged Delhi LG Najeeb Jung to hold the decision to dissolve the Delhi Assembly for a week,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal said AAP will hold fresh Sabhas and meetings in coming days to convince people to trust them once again.
