DMK chief M Karunanidhi sent a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Sunday stating his party could consider pull out of the government if it did not support US resolution against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council later in March.
DMK asked the government to push Sri Lanka for independent probe on war crimes on Tamils by Sri Lankan Army and administrators.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram has hinted that India may vote against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC. He said, if Sri Lanka remains adamant on denying independent international probe then India will have no other choice than to vote against it.
