Nitish Kumar close aide Jeetan Ram Manjhi is set to become the new chief minister of Bihar. Manjhi, a minister in Nitish government belongs to Musahar community.
Announcing the news Nitish Kumar said, “He (Jeetan Manjhi) is a very experienced leader who has contributed a lot to party.”
Nitish Kumar also claimed that the JD (U) will prove its majority in the Assembly.
“One CPI and 2 Independent MLAs have assured us support. We have the numbers,” said Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar also assured his supporters by saying he will take over the responsibility if people of Bihar voted for him again in 2015 assembly polls.
“If people give me mandate in 2015 I am ready to take up responsibility again,” Nitish said.
Veteran leader Jeetan Ram Manjhi represents Makhdumpur assembly seat and was defeated badly in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in Gaya constituency.
In his first reaction the new CM-designate, told reporters, “I was surprised, I never thought I would be the CM ever,”
