The current Vice president Hamid Ansari is all set to remain as India’s Vice President again! The UPA has all the numbers to keep Ansari in his place. Ansari will be the second VP who gets a second term after S Radhakrishnan.
UPA has the support of SP, BSP, Janata Dal Secular and Left Front parties.
The NDA candidate Jaswant Singh will get support from AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa, JD(U) and the Shiv Sena.
RSP and Biju Janta Dal are abstaining from the polls.
The winner needs 394 votes and Jaswant Singh only has 231, so its all the way to Ansari.
The voting for Vice Presidential election will start shortly.
