Five MLAs, who had assaulted an Assistant Police Inspector on Tuesday in the Maharashtra assembly, were suspended today by the state legislature.
The suspension of the five legislators will be effective till 31st December 2013.
The police officer Sachin Suryawanshi was beaten by these five MLAs after he tried to stop vehicle of Thakur on the Bandra-Worli sealink for over speeding on Monday and fined him.
Later on Tuesday Thakur alleged that the inspector misbehaved with him and with four other colleagues he had beaten up Sachin Suryawanshi at the assembly.
The five suspended MLAs are: Kshitij Thakur (Independent), Pradeep Jaiswal (Independent), Rajan Salvi (Shiv Sena), Ram Kadam (MNS) and Jaykumar Rawal (BJP).
