According to most Exit polls, Bharatiya Janata Party is set to win 4 out of 5 states which have gone into polls this time. Apart from a small state in the North-East, Mizoram, Congress is facing huge loss in all 4 major states in the country. This is going to be a big blow to Congress and Rahul Gandhi as only six months left for the next year’s general election and this verdict will be also seen as a wave against UPA government.
BJP is set to retain the power in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh with Dr. Raman Singh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan respectively holding their states with pro-incumbency factors. While Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to enjoy easy win, according to exit polls Raman Singh is facing tough fight from Congress’s Ajit Singh Yogi. This will also be a third straight term for the BJP in both the states. Again Congress lost out from the heartland and Modi’s development mantra seems to win the people.

In Delhi, it was seen an unprecedented election this time as a record voter turnout was seen on Wednesday. The exit polls are predicting a thriller with AAP debut with huge mandate from the Delhites. Dubbing it as the battle of this year, Delhi recorded over 70% voters turnout and has been seen as the sun set for 15-year-old Congress rules in the state.
