Demand of Bharat Ratna for Vajipayee grows as Nitish joins BJP

Demand of Bharat Ratna for former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee grows as many leaders from different parties back it.

After BJP demanded that Vajpayee should also be conferred with Bharat Ratna, National Conference leader Farooq Adbullah said Vajpayee deserves Bharat Ratna.

“Atal Bihari Vajpayee should have got the Bharat Ratna. Even Nehruji praised a leader like Vajpayee. He deserves a Bharat Ratna,” Farooq said.

Setting aside animosity, today Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also backed BJP’s demand and said government should honour Vajpayee with the award.

“He deserves it. Why should not it be given to him?” Kumar asked.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that along with Vajpayee his government also demands honouring legendary hockey player Major Dhyanchand with Bharat Ratna.

“I have written earlier to the Centre to confer Bharat Ratna on Major Dhyanchand but got no reply,” Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.

He also supported the party’s demand for honouring Vajpayee with the award.
