Jallianwala Bagh massacre 'deeply shameful'Cameron who becomes the first British prime minister in chair, regrets publicly over Jallianwala Bagh massacre during British rule in India.

“This was a deeply shameful event in British history – one that Winston Churchill rightly described at that time as monstrous,” Cameron wrote in the visitor’s notebook.

“We must never forget what happened here…and in remembering we must ensure that the UK stands up for the right of peaceful protest around the world” he adds.

Jallianwala Bagh massacre is one of the saddest episodes in Indian history. On 13 April 1919, Brigadier-General E.H. Dyer ordered firing at unarmed men, women and children which took more than 1000 lives, and wounded many more.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
