Congress’s Chintan Shivir in pink city has started in style on Friday.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi spoke tough to the party leaders and asking them to understand the mind of young Indians which are and angry, less tolerant and fed up with corruption. Sonia Gandhi advised congress leaders to build connection with younger India.
Sonia said, “The last nine years have been a period of tremendous economic growth, social change and technological innovation. We should look at our strengths, our weaknesses and the threats we face. We have to recognize the new India. The younger generation is more demanding and less tolerant. Across the length and breadth of our country, people are expecting much more from the political parties. Our people are fed up with the corruption they face. We must understand this. Today’s India is better informed and equipped. The technology has led them to ask more of their leaders.”
Mrs. Gandhi tried to project a clear road map for the Congress to the 2014 General Elections, however she missed (or avoided) many issues.
She did mention and advised party leaders for better co-ordination with allies but she fails to mention how Congress will tackle its allies on each crucial reform decision taken by the government.
She also did not send any clue on Rahul Gandhi’s role or Congress’s PM candidature in 2014.
