After seeing debacle in the recently concluded Assembly election Indian National Congress is considering announcing party vice president Rahul Gandhi’s name as their Prime Ministerial candidate very soon.
After seeing Narendra Modi effect in the recently concluded assembly polls, the demand of naming Rahul’s name as PM is growing.
“At the opportune time, the name of our PM candidate will be announced,” Sonia Gandhi said.
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia admitted that naming Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate may help congress in 2014 Lok Sabha election.
“It would make a huge difference if Rahul Gandhi is announced PM candidate,” Scindia said.
“We need to make urgent changes and start in one or two days, since only six months are left for elections,” Scindia added.
Meanwhile Rahul Gandhi admitted that Aam Admi Party hits Congress more than BJP. “I think the AAP involved a lot of people who the traditional political parties did not involve. We are going to learn from that and do a better job than anybody in the country and involve people in ways you cannot even imgaine now,” Rahul said.
“Through this election, the public has given us a message. I and the Congress have listened to this message not just from our mind but from our hearts also. We work for the people of this country and it is our duty to listen to you. That is what we are supposed to do. We have heard what you have said and we are going to do whatever we can do,” he said.
“I think, we need to think in terms of empowering the people which I have been saying within the party. I am going to make this a central issue,” Rahul said reporters after the result.
